We’re trying very hard to get as many calories into Graham as possible. Yesterday was a decent day, with Graham eating mostly temptations and the very soft treats they make along with some melted iced cream and some milk. He had 3 meals of a mix of those things. When he drinks milk, he gets a little goatee like Colonel Sanders, and it’s so funny. His veterinary appointment is just 2 days away, and I’m less worried now because he does have an appetite and he will eat. He just won’t eat anything that needs to be chewed, which makes me think it’s his teeth that are the issue for sure. But you never know, hence the appointment. It’s just so sad to pet that skinny body.
In other news, we finally got our barn door put up on the main bathroom. Thanks to the hubby 😘 💕.

This side of the door will be stained in an ebony shade, along with the cabinets in both the kitchen and the bathroom, and the other side of the door will be painted white to match the bathroom walls.
Sounds like teeth. Expensive but better than organ failures. I miss my Thomas… still in Pets of the homeless. I might donate something to them next pay as I aren’t in a place yet where he can live at. They are a good charity and as my situation improves I am grateful for a lot of normal people out there who do their bit… Of all generations. Even if I can’t get him back because I don’t want him disrupted I can rescue cats again in the future and support services like POTH and Greensborough Cat Protection.
I’m so sorry to hear about your Thomas and I really hope you can be reunited with him soon ❤️ 💕
I hope so. Reservoir was a very dangerous place towards the end of, and after COVID
Hopefully the vet gets him all sorted. Definitely sounds like his teeth are the problem. Give him some scratches from Illinois for me.
I sure will!
Hoping things get sorted with Graham. I always hate it when one of ours stops eating for more than a day. One of the Maine Coons, Wraith, will just stop eating for a day or two (I think he has seasonal allergies and loses his appetite) and Pixel, my ragdoll used to have gum issues which seemed to have gone away with dental treats. He still is not food motivated, which is always weird when the rest scramble for their dinner and he just cleans himself.
Feel for you.
Thank you, Michael .How many Maine Coon cats do you have?
Two: A tuxedo smoke male (black, Wraith) and a traditional brown tabby female (Fennekin). We had a third (a grey smoke tabby, Ghost), but we lost him when he had a freak allergic reaction to the anesthesia while they were neutering him and he suffered irreparable brain damage due to oxygen loss.
I love Maine Coons, but Pixel has shown me that ragdolls can be a blast to have in the family.
All three think they are puppies. 🙂
Awe, so sweet, but how horrible that Ghost had that reaction and so young. Ragdolls are terrific and so easy to groom .Great names by the way.
Thank you! I think we’re done with monster/fantasy names (hence Pixel instead of something like “gremlin”), but it was fun to name all of them (including our rescues) under that scheme.
Ghost is true to his name. He stops by regularly. 🙂
It must have been a hoot.
Probably teeth. The problem with bad teeth is it can cause issues with kidneys. This has been associated with kibble by some so my daughter tells me; she being the cat person in our house, and as we have had zillions of cats over the years and lost a few, I take her word for it.
Oddly enough when I was a kid we had two cats at home and they both ate Kit-e-Kat from a tin.
I don’t recall our cats in those days eating dried food.
Even our dog had wet / tin food and only later was dried food introduced.
That’s troubling. I’d hate to see a kidney issue. After we get a diagnosis tomorrow, I will post the results here.
Bad teeth does not necessarily mean there is any organ problems at this stage and caught early enough things will sort themselves out. If it is teeth the vet will probably recommend an extraction. Our dentists would likely say the same thing.
But you know this is half the problem with the internet, don’t you? Everyone is an expert.
My GP once remarked about everyone having access to online diagnosis by saying to me: “And by page four you realized your were dead, right?”
You are so right
Lesson for the future perhaps?
Don’t cause yourself unnecessary stress when for the sake of a day or two everything turned out fine.
Sometimes we ( me too, of course) are our own worst enemies.
😊
Hoping the best for Graham’s diagnosis! I actually don’t have pets, but as a carpet cleaner, I’ve had to help clean up pet stains from a number of sick and aging pets. I can see just how hard those situations are on the families. Thoughts and prayers going out to you!
Thank you, he’s at the vet now … waiting for diagnosis to post a blog
