My health

What have you been working on?

For the past year, specifically, I have been working to improve my health. When last I was in hospital, for a colonoscopy, the attending doctor was dictating patient notes into a recorder just behind me, though I don’t think he realized that I was awake . He started each patient’s notes by saying, “An otherwise healthy.”.. then he described the patient and their issues. When he got to my notes, he began by saying, “An otherwise UNHEALTHY…”. This one word lit a fire under my pooper and ever since then, I’ve been striving for better health, mostly through diet, because it’s the only thing that I have any control over. I was underweight at the time and likely undernourished. I drastically changed my diet to include far more fruits and vegetables and far less red meat and dairy, and it’s working. My weight is back where it should be, as is my energy, and I’ve seen more physical improvements, too.  For instance, I’ve finally, after 9 years of stroke recovery, been able to balance myself while standing ,and for the first time in 9 years, I’m walking without my ankle foot orthotic brace. This means I’m walking more often. Those are two HUGE improvements that I’m currently working to improve even more.

Next month, I will be getting my yearly flu shot along with the newest Covid vaccine, and I will book a check-up with my family doctor and finally get blood work done .I’ve been putting off my blood work for far too long.

This was my New Year’s resolution this year, and I’m very proud to report that I’m still going. I will get healthier by medical standards or die trying 😆.

  1. We had to have COVID vaccinations in Melbourne. I had 4 and was in very good health. My mother had 2 and was not in good health. She was reactivated to help clean up the hotel quarantine disaster brought about by adultery from the only culture that exercises severe laws in relation to it. Unfortunately their women are totally down with the reality that their men are so desirable that devil women cannot stay away from them. Background aside.. I was not so sure that the vaccinations were that effective if a lot of others aren’t having it. Practising basic infection control measures like hand hygiene and limiting social exposure are best… and eat well to build good defence. Mum had 2 x astrazenica shots. I had 4 x Pfizer. After 2 years in isolation and a lot of psychological damage I see the whole thing as a world expo for the pharmaceutical industry MNC’s just as the first Gulf war was TV advertising for armaments companies.

    1. As to the efficacy of the vaccine I think that it’s dependent on the underlying health issues of the person. Which is why I’m working on my health, as I’m already immunocompromised from my stroke.
