I just found my best solution products for my post menopausal dry skin and scalp.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

It’s not really a hobby, but this is something that I’ve been trying to get a solution to for quite a bit of time and, unfortunately, money. Even before my menopause began ,my skin was dry , itchy, and flaky. I’ve been searching for something that really works to make it moist and dewy, or at least not itchy. It’s not just the skin on my face, but also my scalp is very dry, and the remedy I use for thinning hair is making my poor scalp get scab-like patches and has stopped working. So, I decided to treat the dryness and only the dryness, and I found something great. It’s an inexpensive shampoo and conditioner in one called Flexoril . From the first use, it was obvious that it works. I’ve been using it for every other shampoo for over a month, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The thick, scabby patches are completely gone, and I can even feel some hair growth, a bonus that I didn’t expect.

Flexoril can be found at your local drug store or on Amazon for less than 20 dollars, and there’s also a scalp treatment you can use for extra moisture if needed for a similar low price.

I also found something that really works for the dry skin on my face and neck, and any other place on my body that exhibits the signs of dry skin. the big surprise here is that it’s usually injested for laxative purposes. But if you use it topically, it’s fantastic as a moisturizer and it’s not expensive either. Castor oil! I’ve been using it on my face and neck for about a week, and I’m seeing great results. It’s quite a thick oil, and in order for it to penetrate the skin more deeply, I mix it with coconut oil, which makes it much thinner and easier for the skin to soak up. Castor oil has a myriad of benefits when used topically, including the fact that it’s a great anti-inflammatory good for taking down puffiness. It’s also good for the hair and nails too! And apparently, it also works on sunspots . But it excels as a moisturizer, even lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is something I’ve already noticed. The skin around my eyes is smoother and a bit thicker, and after only a week. As for other places on the body, it’s also touted as relief for dry and cracked heels.

When purchasing Castor oil for the skin, there are a couple of things that should be noted. First, make sure it’s  organic, cold pressed, and hexane free. Second, because castor oil degrades when exposed to light, make sure it comes in a brown glass bottle and store it in a cool place. When mixing it with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil pour equal amounts of each into a small bowl, mix it together with your fingers and apply/massage it into your  clean skin at night and leave it on overnight. If your castor oil starts to smell, it’s time to replace it with a new bottle, so it’s not prudent to purchase the biggest bottle. A midsized bottle is recommended, so there’s little to no waste.

If you are searching for something that works for your dry skin, I highly recommend you give Castor oil a try, but do a test patch first as some people could have an allergic reaction to it.

As for dry scalp, I couldn’t recommend Flexoril more!
