In case of emergency

What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

The only thing that I need to have on my person at all times, including when I go to the bathroom, is my cellphone. As a wheelchair user, if I have an emergency situation, like if I fall,or if I’m unable to get up from the toilet for some reason, and my cellphone isn’t with me, it’s not a good thing. Because my husband’s hearing is waning and because my voice is not as strong as it was before my stroke, yelling for his help doesn’t always work. Although now that we’ve replaced our carpets with vinyl planks, sound travels further . Even so,I don’t feel fully safe without my cellphone.

  1. You’re not kidding that sound travels better without carpeting! All low budget rentals these days are floored in that or ceramic ~ there’s no getting away from the sound of your neighbors any more, even for a minute.

      1. Right, I can certainly see that!

Where it isn’t better is in a rented room in a house full of twenty four hour speed freaks ~ and practically every room rental is that, any more. I’ve even found it in small town office buildings. (I got ejected, not the lab).
