#GoodNewsMonday new sofa and more independence

We decided to get a new sofa a couple of weeks ago.

It recliners on both sides and has heat and air massage. Unfortunately it’s a couple of inches lower than my wheelchair and doesn’t lift me to standing, but I found the perfect work around. Placing a saskapole in the right spot so I can pull myself up.

There was definitely a learning curve as far as where to put the pole, but today I stood up on my own and transferred to my wheelchair by myself…finally.

As to why we did this, I really missed being able to cuddle with my husband and wanted a piece of furniture that would allow us to do just that. Once we move, we plan to get a king size adjustable bed with a tempurpedic mattress so I can sleep in bed with less pain. Just have to find the right place.

    1. It’s going to take more than research. I’m going to need to test. That’s the thing about being paralyzed, everything takes so much longer to find the right thing I.
