“And be back ‘fore it melts in the PAN!”… πΆβ¨
This was one of those songs, like Motown’s “Respect” of the same era, whose effect upon the morale of our women ~ just then emerging from their demeaning cocoons and brushing up against those glass ceilings which, 75 years later, are well on their way to shattering ~ was truly incalculable.
I’d love to have been a fly on the wall at the moment its songwriter, producers and performers eyes met, carrying the realization of what good it could do…
Both great songs.
HELLyeah! π

Hellen was a good, generous, and kind person. I asked to interview her back in the late 1990s. She declined because of her schedule but wrote a kind letter back to me.
I believe it. In my experience, aussies usually have a fantastic manner.
