What’s your go-to comfort food?

There’s nothing better to eat when I need a little comfort food that Southern baked mac’n cheese. Thankfully, the very same local kitchen that makes the best mulligatawny soup I’ve ever enjoyed also makes a terrific Southern baked mac’n cheese. In fact, every dish made in this amazing place is phenomenal. From their beef bourguignon and their tiramisu to the crab and lobster dip and the chicken parmigiana, it’s all a great time for the taste buds. The kitchen is called Refire, and the only thing for the customer to do is reheat . Unless it’s dessert, then just leave it out to thaw.  Fantastic food in great portions and at fair prices! All made by retired local chefs.

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

As a word nerd,🤓 I enjoy and excel at Scrabble . As a trivia lover with a good memory for things that interest me, I enjoy and excel at Jeopardy and trivial pursuit. Finally, as someone who needs help with observation, I often play hidden objects, games, and match three and mahjong games in order to improve my observational skills. It’s important for me to exercise my brain because I’ve suffered brain damage, due to the massive stroke I had 9 years ago and I find that if it’s something that I can also enjoy, I’ll do it every day.

I’ve never enjoyed searching for my favorite games, so I’m a member of a site that includes them all, POGO.com. I’ve been a Club Pogo member for about 20 years, and I love the site. It gives me access to a wide variety of games for around 30 CAD per year, and I can access the site via my tablet .

What foods would you like to make?

With access to only my right hand, the only thing that I can make in the kitchen is a mmmmm mess.

So the food I would like to make is literally every food.

Which activities make you lose track of time?

Today’s blog comes late because I went to the mall with my mom and my husband for a birthday shop and ironically lost all track of time. I received a new outfit, as did mom. Hubby didn’t see anything he wanted, but he has all month to find something that he will like.

Usually, it’s scrolling online, that makes me lose track of time .but shopping feels so much more like I’ve accomplished something.

I’m wearing my new togs on the 25th when the three of us are going to a fancy hotel for high tea to celebrate our combined birthdays. There will be photos, and I will be sharing them here.

Until then, hubby took a shot of my mom and I today, and we both looked cute if I do say so myself ☺️

What bothers you and why?

What bothers me is people who look down their noses at me because I use a wheelchair. People who think they’re special for patronizing me just because they said Jesus loves you or some other childish nonsense. And the worst is people who talk only to the person I’m with asking if I can do something. That bothers me most of all. Just because my wheelchair is electric, they assume I can’t speak for myself. I’m driving the chair, but you ask someone else for information about me. That isn’t just disrespectful, IT’S RUDE.
