I haven’t stepped foot inside the United States since I moved back to Canada in 2009,and I never plan to again. It’s full of people who have been told that it’s the best country on earth for their whole lives and they believe it. Unfortunately, when you believe a claim like that, you also start to think that you don’t have room to improve, and you don’t notice the slow downturn that is happening all around you. It seems as if the world has noticed. It just took the election of a reality show host who doesn’t understand global trade or immigration or tourism and thinks he has the answer to everything.
